Jumbo Reversible Soft floors 2' x 2' x 7/8 (20mm) 4 Colors
These martial arts mats are 2’ x 2’ x 7/8” thick, ideal for all types of flooring; martial arts, tae kwon do or karate. These mats are not recommended for judo flooring because it will not supply enough cushion.

FAQ For Puzzle Mats and Jigsaw Mats
1. We are interested in the 1” thick interlocking puzzle mats and the 1-3/8” thick folding gym mats. However, I’m undecided which martial arts mat would meet our needs. Please advise.
If the budget is major issue then the puzzle 1” thick martial arts mats are the more economical option. The 1-3/8” thick gym mats will provide more cushion for judo throws and will be less ballistic on the joints. In addition, the puzzle mats are textured and may add some anti-slip- properties to the martial arts movements, especially spin-kicks, jump kicks, etc.
2. Are the interlocking tabs easy to cut off? We want our gym mats to go wall to wall.
All the puzzle mats are produced with straight-cut removable tabs. If they are not removed the edge is straight and can be placed flush against walls. However, on two sides you’ll have to cut the mat with a utility knife and straight edge. It’s not difficult.
3. You have the econo-soft floors and the Premium floors. What’s the difference?
Other than price-the Premium puzzle mats are more expensive- the premium floor tiles are more dense and durable. Both tiles are appropriate for pre-school flooring, day care floors but not recommended as a martial arts floor. The most common source of degradation for the foam puzzle mats are the sharp finger nails of children picking at the soft flooring. Our hard interlocking rubber tiles are another option for extreme environments and can be used for classroom flooring, day care-preschool, gyms and weigh rooms. However, the hard rubber tiles have only moderate anti-fatigue properties.
4. Can we use the martial arts flooring for a pre-school floor?
Yes, actually it is recommended because it’s more dense, thicker and the interlocking puzzle tiles are 40” x 40” x1” thick. Color options are limited for the reversible martial arts floor tiles: red/blue or grey/black. A check-board pattern of red and blue will appeal to children. Lastly, furniture like school desks and chairs can’t be placed on the jigsaw mats, AKA, puzzle mats. 5. Can we glue the jigsaw mats to the floor?
This is not recommended.
6. We have a small semi-outdoor patio we want to cover with your puzzle mats. Can this be used as a patio flooring?
This is not recommended because the foam core used in the production of the mat tiles consists of open cell foam, which can absorb water. Depending on how wet the foam mats gets it may become soggy and cause pre-mature wear.

8. We own a preschool in Los Angeles, California and need a soft floor for our day care center. Can we place chairs and tables on the preschool flooring?
No, over a short time the legs will puncture the foam core of the puzzle mat. Perhaps inflatable furniture is an option to use or redesign the floor plan at your Los Angeles preschool. Define the room space according to activity; half of the room for play, the other half for desk and chair activity.
Jumbo reversible flooring is manufactured with firm PVC foam between a smooth and durable closed cell vinyl protective cover. The durable, easy to clean and nearly stain resistant, vinyl cover ‘sandwiches’ the compressed foam core providing superior shock absorbing qualities. The vinyl protective cover is on top and bottom which gives the puzzle mat its reversible characteristics.
Vinyl is easy to clean thereby making this reversible puzzle mats the best-but not the only option-for day care and preschool flooring.
Preschool and day care floors are prone to children’s ‘accidents.’ The closed cell nature of vinyl protective encasement will greatly reduce bacterial seepage into the open cell foam core. There is not better product for preschool and day care floor that the reversible puzzle mats; soft, durable and easy to maintain cleanliness.
Other options for children’s soft flooring include the premium or economy puzzle mats. However, there’s no protective cover to preserve the foam core. If a preschool uses the premium or economy puzzle mats as flooring we suggest minimizing food and drinks usage, if possible when playing use socks only. The ‘sock only’ recommendations is only to extend the longevity of the children soft flooring, as well will keep the floor clean over a longer period of time.
9. I'm a aerobics instructor in Los Angeles, California. We want a aerobic floor tile that is low maintenance. I'm concerned the foam tiles will be high maintenance?
Perhaps the plastic aerobic sport tiles will meet your needs. They are 12" x 12" and are available in faux wood or other colors.
