The Boulder® Handspring Trainer  

The Boulder® Handspring Trainer (US Patent Pending)- a crucial gymnastic supply- is a back handspring trainer. Different than octogon handspring trainers. The Boulder® Handspring Trainer has a single flat side (bottom) that provides a still balanced point, rather a launching (jumping) point for beginner gymnasts and tumblers.

  • Supplies the gymnast with auto-return/back to the ready position for the next gymnast waiting in line.
  • Provides lower back and mid-back support during the complete movement.
  • The rolling begins as soon as the gymnast lands on the Boulding Handspring Trainer.
  • Encourages tumblers to “snap down”
  • Does not prematurely eject tumbler
  • Does not roll on top of the tumbler after completion

Our padded gymnastic balance beam is padded with 1/4 inch closed cell rubber-rubber hard enough to maintain balance soft enough to minimize injury. Our wood beam surface is 7 inches from the floor and made with non-scuffing rubber leg pads, covered with short hair durable rubber-backed carpet. Balance beams are great for private and institutional use. Two widths to choose: 4 inches or 6 inch. Carpeted balance beam are recommended for recreational use, PE classes, movement education activities Synthetic suede balance beams are recommended for beginner through advanced gymnast. Cartwheel Factory Floor Training Bars are designed to teach and practice squat on, handstands, pirouettes, push ups, etc. These bars are portable, make spotting easy and reduce beginner’s concerns when learning handstands and stalls above the bar.

About Incline Mats: Incline mats, also known as, wedge mats or cheese mats are used in tumbling movements in which gravity can assist us. Used in performing forward rolls, back rolls or back handspring down the incline to initiate greater momentum. Also used in handstand-hands placed on the lower part of the incline- fall to a bridge then kick-over while feet are on the higher part of the incline. This makes it easier to kick over to a stand because the feet are higher than the hands. The lower the feet are from the top of the incline, of course, the more challenging the kick-over from bridge is.

Which incline mat should I purchase? Keep one safety tip in mind, too often injuries occur falling off the mat onto the floor. Bigger incline mats are safer than smaller ones. Incline mats made of Polyfoam. 70 ILD are firmer than 44 ILD Polyfoam. For kids over 9 year olds 70 ILD is recommended. The Deluxe Incline Mats are reversible, one side has a layer of 1.25" thick polyethylene on top to provide a firmer jumping surface or for movements than require feet first landings. Turn the Deluxe Incline Mats over for the Polyfoam side up which would be more appropriate for hands first contact such as dive rolls or kids learning forward somersaults that may result in back or seat first landings.
