Four feet wide x 4mm Thick Rubber Sub Floor For Dance Flooring are Produced Up To 150 feet long
Rubber Sub floor For Dance Floors
|
Floors for ballet require a sub floor to minimize the ballistic jarring of joints.
The most economical way to provide 'softness' to dance flooring is with a rubber sub floor under vinyl roll out dance floors. The 4mm thick rubber sub floor for ballet floors and other forms of dance will not add spring, bounce and will not add 6" of amplitude to your grand jeté or split leap. Dance sub floors provide anti-fatigue properties to wood or concrete floors. Thereby, prolonging practice time, minimize the stress on the knees, ankles and spine, esp. the lower back. |
Rubber Sub floor for Under Dance Flooring |
The comfort of rubber sub floor under dance flooring rolls will provide anti fatigue properties to all genres of dance, especially ballet. Our 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 3/8" or 1/2 inch thick pure rubber dance flooring sub floor is an economical way to add comfort to your dancing due to the cushion-like properties of natural rubber.
Our 2mm, 3mm and 4mm thick Underlayment does not add 'spring' or eliminate jarring to your dance movements. The 2mm thick Underlayment just removes the 'hardness' of concrete and wood flooring. Three millimeter and 4mm will provide additional luxury. The 3/8" & 1/2" thick will cushion and add rebound. Both thickness will provide less ballistic jar on the joints and more stress-free dancing with less wear and tear on the joints.
Marley type vinyl dance floor rolls are rolled over the rubber sub floor for added comfort.
Ideal for all forms of dance. Also serves as minor insulation against cold floors and abates noise for the people downstairs, if applicable. Rubber sub floor can be cut by hand. Minimum Order 100 sq. ft. (4 ft. x 25 ft. roll). Thicker half inch rubber sub floor is available.
Note: Rubber sub floor will muffle the sound of tap. The reduction of sound will not be of great concern if it's for a training environment. If the rubber sub floor is used for a performance then the acoustical reduction will be more of an issue.
It's worth $130 to comfort dancers, protect joints and add practice time for your dancers.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. We have a basement in our house and would like to convert this area into a home ballet studio for our two ballerinas. What do you recommend? Oh, we are on a budget.
There are a couple of options; Marley-type, Adagio and Adagio Tour. The Marley-type is the most economical floor for ballet. Call for an estimate: 1-661-273-8700 |
2. My husband and I own a ballet studio in San Diego, California. We conduct free dance classes to local schools and market our program at the same time. We also give demos at local shopping centers. Which dance flooring is the most portable and roll able?
Adagio Tour is design for touring. It’s very roll able and weighs on 2.75lbs. (1.24 kilograms) per square yard. So a 10’ x 20’ consists of two rolls of 5.25 x 20’. Each roll would weigh only 32 lbs. The Marley-type dance flooring is equally rollable. |
3. Which of your floors are the best for tap?
Before we answer that please understand that the acoustics of the tap sound is more generated and amplified by the type of floor under the tap dance floor. A concrete or a floating wood floor will provide superior acoustics. In addition, the type of ceiling and wall will have an effect on the tap sound. So that being said we recommend the Adagio, Adagio Tour, the Marley-Type or Arabesque. If budget is the major concern then we suggest the Marley-Type or high on the economical scale the Adagio or thinner Adagio Tour. Arabesque also has a crisp tap sound but is not roll able. |
4. I'm the Program Manager for a senior citizen center in Dallas, Texas. Is there a floor you suggest for seniors?
All of the vinyl roll-out dance flooring will suffice. To soften things up bit we suggest placing a rubber subfloor under the PVC rolls. Thickness options include 2, 3, 4mm, 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" thick. |
5. Our new home has a ‘fun’ room with an exercise area with weights & dumbbells, a 4 foot ballet bar and a 150 square foot area for dance. What IF we purchase the PVC dance roll-out floor and we drop dumbbell on it, will it damage the floor?
Maybe, most likely yes. We do not recommend our PVC rolls for dance. For weight room flooring we suggest hard rubber. |
6. I have a 25 year daughter that does not want to perform anymore. She expressed her desire to teach ballet or start or buy a ballet studio. Where can she go to research such opportunity?
Starting or acquiring a ballet school is great goal. She’ll still feel like a ballerina and have the pleasure of sharing her skills. Perhaps www.dance.net can advise you. We wish her the best of luck, truly. |
7. The undersigned is the manager of a private fitness center in New York City that would like to start a dance aerobics class? What kind of floor do you recommend?
We highly recommend the half inch thick rubber dance aerobic flooring or the faux wood plastic aerobic floor tiles. |
8. We may or may glue the floor down. Which is suited for permanent installation?
The below table will be helpful. Keep in mind that Touring means very portable for tours, Semi-Permanent is applied with single sided tape and often with double-sided tape and Permanent installation is applied with adhesive. |

10. We purchased Irish dance flooring from you two years ago. Our next performance requires a bag piper. Can your recommend a bag-piper for us?
Indeed, we can: Perhaps Dark Isle Piper, a Los Angeles, California Bag Piper One can view Piper Tress at: Highland Bagpiper For Hire. |

|
11. We would like to roll out the dance flooring on carpet. Can we do that?
Yes, however, this may prematurly wear out the carpet. As well, you'll void the warranty. If it was my kid, I would still buy the floor because it will still last more than a year. |
12. Can any of your dance flooring be used for a home dance studio?
Yes, the standard Marley-type dance flooring is popular for home dance studio and is more rollable than the Arabesque dance floor.
